This article explains how Admins and Representatives can rename an existing vault. Renaming a vault allows you to update the vault display name and, when applicable, the primary contact name—without impacting vault data or user access.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Select the Vault
- Go to your list of vaults.
- Locate the vault you want to rename.
Step 2: Open the Edit Profile Option
- You can access Edit Profile in either of the following ways:
- Right-click on the vault name and select Edit Profile, or
- Select the Actions menu next to the vault and choose Edit Profile.
Step 3: Update the Vault Information
- and/orUpdate the Vault Name and / or Primary Contact Name (for Household or Organization vaults)
- Save your changes when finished.
Step 4: Confirm the Update
- The vault name is updated immediately.
- All existing documents, permissions, and activity history remain unchanged.
Important Notes
Inbound Email Address
Renaming a vault does not update the inbound email address. The inbound email address is created when the vault is first set up and is based on: The original vault name, or The vault owner’s name (for Individual vaults)
Need to Change the Inbound Email Address?
- If the inbound email address must be updated to reflect the new vault name, contact Support.
- This change cannot be completed directly by Admins or Representatives.
